Santiago de Chile was the center of life science innovation this week during Biolatam® 2015. The event, held November 16–17, buzzed with activity from international life science dealmakers from pharma, biotech, investors and service companies looking to forge collaborations that will fuel drug discovery through access to Latin American innovation.
The week was a flurry of activity, and rooms were packed for popular program offerings. Monday’s spotlight panel entitled “Open innovation through cooperative schemes in Latin America: A public perspective,” was well attended. On Tuesday, the presentation “Vinculación Academia e Industria: Un Modelo Virtuoso de Cooperación” by Hugo Sigman, CEO of Grupo Insud and President of la Cámara Argentina de Biotecnologia, was a favorite. And the panel “From university to startup companies: Success stories in Chile” was very interesting and had a stellar line-up of academic speakers.
Overall, the event was a great combination of productive partnering and festive fun. Here are some photos from the event.
